Summer is the pinnacle for all leisure. Most people’s holidays revolve around this time of the year as it allows for the perfect weather to laze around. Now guess what, summer’s back. Are you excited? What will you be doing? Swimming all day at the beach or maybe having a giant neighborhood barbeque perhaps? Well whatever it may be, everyone’s ready for it- out of school, off work, enjoying the warmth of the nice day outside. Now, this is a total dream but can very easily turn sour. I think you know where I’m going with this- what happens if the sun just gets too hot? It immediately stops being fun and you instantly wish that summer goes back to where it came from.
But don’t be like this, there are various ways to tackle the pesky heat. You’ll be back to parading around, enjoying the sun’s golden hues. Although there are many ways to go about doing this, I will be focusing on the hydration part. We’ll be discussing a multitude of delicious recipes that will help keep you hydrated and preppy.
Get That Citrus On
Citrus drinks are a great way to hydrate yourself during the summer. Not only is it a good way to tackle the sometimes relentless heat but is also beneficial for you due to the climate. Why? Because of the vitamin C it possesses. This vitamin c helps keep the skin rejuvenated which is important as the heat will take a toll on it. So, what citrus drink will we be discussing? Nope, not orange juice! We’ll be talking about the star of them all- Lemonade. Get ready.
Firstly, make sure to have sparkling water in hand instead of regular water as it makes for the best tasting and great looking lemonade. All you’ll need to do is mix 3 cups of lemon juice, 7 cups of water, 1 whole lemon, 1 cup of sugar, and some mint if you’re feeling a little bit exotic.
Maybe Keep It Healthier?
If you want something refreshing but not so calorie full, then flavoured water would be your best bet. Fill a jug with your water – approximately 6 cups’ worth, then an assortment of fruits such as lemons, oranges, limes and cucumbers diced up.
Now don’t just pop this into the freezer. Rather be sure to place this inside the refrigerator overnight for the flavor to truly develop.
What About Everyone’s favorite drink?
It’s universal- we all love tea. I’ve yet to find anyone who dislikes drinking it. That’s why iced tea is an absolute must when the heat just gets too hot.
Not only are the copious amounts of antioxidants good for your body during the heat, but the taste is delicious! What you need to do is mix hot water into a jug, 6 cups worth. Add 12 tea bags and allow to steep for 10 minutes. Then, add a cup of sugar and refrigerate.
That’s all, hope you enjoyed my suggestions!
